The Connemara House
Connemara is an area on the west coast of Ireland, which includes parts of County Galway – where the Finneran Family lived – and prides itself on being a place of contrasts, colors, wilderness, and warm welcomes. We believe that is exactly what you will find in our new Connemara House where the Caldwell’s Irish traditions meet the beauty and charm of the Hudson Valley.
Originally, the Caldwell Barnhouse, the building was converted to a single-family home in the early 1900s and was subdivided away from the Caldwell Estate. The home became available for purchase in late 2013 and we jumped at it. Much of 2014 was spent renovating, updating, and adding to the building. We had a ribbon cutting ceremony in December 2014 to showcase what we believe is one of the most beautiful Inn buildings in the entire Hudson Valley. In addition to four luxurious new Guest Rooms, the Connemara House has a “Great Room” where will have breakfast when we are full. We are only 60 minutes from NYC – by car or train – but the Inn will take you back in time when life was simple and elegant.
We also added a “Bridal Party Prep Room” which is large enough to accommodate a Bride and her whole Bridal Party as they dress and prep – hair, nails, makeup, etc. – for the special event. Finally, there is a Spa Room where traditional massages are available for individuals and couples.
