The first day of summer has passed, which means we can officially celebrate being in one of our favorite seasons! Many of our guests here at our bed and breakfast ask for our suggestions on our favorite things to see and do. We first ask if they have time to sit for an hour because there is so much to tell! We are of course kidding, but honestly, the list is endless, particularly in the summer season. One of the reasons our guests enjoy this area is the arts and culture scene. There are some fantastic music events and festivals all season long. Coming up soon is a fun summer concert series that we want to share with you.
The quaint town of Wappinger Falls, NY is just over a half hour from our B&B. It is here you’ll find the Summer Concert Series at Bowdoin Park. The park is a gorgeous natural area for locals and visitors. It offers amazing views of the Hudson River and is a place where you can relax, hike on the woodland trails, or have a picnic to name a few things to do. They have a recently built bandshell where they hold their summer concert series. The concerts are just once a month from July-September so you won’t want to miss out! On July 21st, you can hear The Platters and on August 11th, The Drifters will be playing. There is a show September 8th with The Coasters but this one is a ticketed event. The concert gate opens at 5pm and the shows will start at 6pm. Food for purchase will be provided by Villa Borghese and if it happens to be a rainy day, the concert will take place the following evening.
