The Shawagunk Wine Trail is home to 14 diverse wineries sprinkled along an 80-mile route. These also include a cider mill (you have heard of Angry Orchard, right?) and a distillery just in case wine is not your preference. Some wineries have special events for Valentine’s Weekend that include a Galentine’s Day Espresso Martini Making and a Chocolate and Wine Pairing. You are sure to find something to bring back to your room to enjoy.
Try a Night Snowshoe Walk
The moon is out, reflecting on the snow, and you are trekking to the top of the Victor Constant Ski area in West Point! There you will enjoy a bonfire and s’mores under the stars. Snowshoes, poles, and refreshments are covered with your registration. Doesn’t this Snowshoe Walk sound romantic?
Visit a Museum
There are many museums located close to Caldwell House that appeal to a variety of interests. Spend the day outside and view the outdoor sculptures at the Storm King Art Center with their winter faces. If you prefer to stay inside, try a free exhibit at the Wallkill School of Art. Or how about a Motorcycle Museum? There really IS something for everyone!
Try Something Murderous or Otherworldly
If you are looking for something with audience participation, have you ever been to a Murder Mystery Dinner? Solve a fun chocolate-themed mystery while you enjoy your dinner.
Or, how about dinner with a psychic? Have psychic Lisa Morrison try to contact your loved ones while you enjoy dinner. You will surely be amazed and amused.
Go to a Concert
“Reelin’ in the Years,” a band playing the music of Steely Dan is playing nearby, or consider an entire evening of the Funk Junkie’s Valentine’s Show! The Valentine’s show includes a session with the Hudson Valley’s own “Love Doctor” Sheila Pearl. How eclectic is that?
