This area is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s paradise with an abundance of skiing, snowboarding and skating opportunities – the trio of Hudson Valley winter activities. Throughout the region you’ll find miles of trails, slopes and snow-covered terrain. While snow accumulations can vary greatly from year to year, we’ve rounded up some spots near the Caldwell House Bed & Breakfast so you can plan a fun winter vacation.
Skating
Open from November to March, this is the area’s largest open-air rink. Adults pay only $5 to skate and parking is $10 on weekends and holidays. Skate rental is $10 per pair. Enjoy gorgeous views of the mountains as you twirl, toe loop, flip, and strut your stuff on the ice.
This 500-acre, family-oriented destination is about 40 minutes from our inn. Here you can try snow tubing, ice skating, skiing, and cross-country skiing. The timber chute tubing lanes are a blast! When your adventures are done you can relax on a horse-drawn sleigh ride around the ranch.
Bowdoin Park is a picturesque 301-acre park with amazing views overlooking the Hudson River and the ice rink is open when conditions are right. Reach out to the park’s hotline for updates by calling 845-298-4607
